– Surface preparation:
• Old or new concrete surfaces, ceramic tile surfaces, ceramic tiles or old wall surfaces, etc. must be ground with a specialized machine before applying Valastic 636.
• Then clean the surface with a dust blower, vacuum cleaner, etc. Absolutely do not use water to clean.
• Check the surface again after grinding, if it is hollow, pitted or peeling,… it needs to be repaired with specialized mortar.
• Check the humidity of the surface to be waterproofed, the allowable humidity for construction is no more than 8%.
– Construction method:
• Carry out lining construction:
+ Apply Valastic U Primer before applying Valastic 636 waterproofing layer with brush, roller or specialized sprayer.
+ Construction norm 0.2 – 0.3kg/layer/m2.
+ Waiting time for primer to dry before applying coatings: Minimum 24 hours.
• Proceed with the construction of the first 100% Valastic 636 waterproofing layer:
+ Wait for Valastic U Primer to dry for a minimum period of 24 hours after completion of application.
+ Then apply Valastic 636 waterproofing product using brush, roller, squeegee or specialized sprayer.
+ Stir the waterproofing well for 2 – 3 minutes after opening the lid with a stirrer at low speed until homogeneous.
• Proceed with applying the second layer of Valastic 636 waterproofing:
+ Apply the next layer 4-5 hours after the previous layer.
+ Apply at least 2 – 3 layers.
+ In special conditions, > 3 layers can be applied. The first layer should be applied thinly at a rate of 0.50kg/m2. Subsequent layers are applied at a rate of 0.75kg/m2.
+ In case it is necessary to protect the Valastic 636 waterproofing layer with sand-cement mortar or tile paste, it is necessary to sprinkle or spray dry sand with a grain size of 0.4 – 0.8mm on the surface of the final PU waterproofing layer as soon as construction is completed. .
+ Allow the final layer to dry completely for 72 hours before applying external finishing layers.
– Cleaning: Clean tools and equipment immediately after construction with clean water.
– Safety instructions: Alkaline products can cause skin allergies. Wear appropriate safety glasses and gloves when working.
– Storage: Cool, dry, shaded place.
– Expiry date: Minimum 12 months from date of manufacture (if stored properly in intact, unopened containers)
